More Chances at Gold-Cup & Vegas!

The APA World Pool Championship

We have some exciting announcements to make regarding 8-Ball Tri-Cup & Gold-Cup for the 2019/2020 Summer, Fall & Spring Sessions, as well as our league’s participation in the World Championship in Las Vegas!

First of all, we will be sending the 8-Ball team with the most total session points in Hudson County for each session directly to Gold-Cup – this means you do not have to compete in Tri-Cups and head straight to the World Qualifier (Gold-Cup)!

Second, as a thank you for your patience as we learn the ropes, work through improving your APA experience, and, of course, make mistakes along the way, we will be sending a THIRD 8-Ball TEAM to LAS VEGAS for the 2020 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP!  This is one more 8-Ball team than our league has sent in the past as a thank you to all of you.

Now, as we’re just getting started and are unsure what team growth will look like, we’re not sure if we’ll be able to continue this in the future, but will do our best to continue to do so in future years as we can learn to better budget to do so.

Sending 8-Ball teams directly to Gold-Cup means that the field of teams competing in Gold-Cup will be increasing, so to help fill the brackets evenly, we will be awarding a few Gold-Cup spots to the teams with the most total combined points for the Summer, Fall and Spring sessions.  If either team is already qualified for Gold-Cup, we will move down to the team with the next most total combined points.  We will announce more details regarding this soon.

And regarding the team from this past Summer Session that gets the golden ticket (pun intended) to Gold-Cup, we understand that some of you Stats Hawks out there will notice that they were actually the team with the third most points.  We will be addressing this with the teams with the first and second most place points (one of which has already qualified for Gold-Cup), both of whom have already played their Tri-Cup matches.

Regarding our 9-Ball divisions, we will be working to accommodate a similar arrangement for Gold-Cup, and will have an update soon after we’ve had a chance to work through the brackets.

If you have any questions or comments, please address them with us directly.

Again, thank you all for your patience, as we work hard to improve your APA experience.  We expect great things and hope you all do too.  And as always…

HAVE FUN, MEET PEOPLE, PLAY POOL!

All the best,

Your Hudson County League Operators,

Jake & Morgan
